        Cheeseburger       



Ingredients:

  1. 1 lb. ground beef
  2. Salt and pepper, to taste
  3. 4 hamburger buns
  4. 4 slices of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or any other cheese of your choice)
  5. Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, etc


Instructions:

  1. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty that is about 4 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick.
  2. Season both sides of the patties with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked through.
  5. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty.
  6. Toast the buns on the skillet or griddle until they are golden brown.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun bottom, then add any toppings of your choice.
  8. Place the bun tops on the burgers and serve immediately.
