Cheeseburger
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. ground beef
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or any other cheese of your choice)
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, etc
Instructions:
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty that is about 4 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick.
- Season both sides of the patties with salt and pepper.
- Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked through.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty.
- Toast the buns on the skillet or griddle until they are golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun bottom, then add any toppings of your choice.
- Place the bun tops on the burgers and serve immediately.
